## Frequently Asked Questions

### Getting Started

**How do I create an account?**  
Tap "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" on the login screen. No separate password is needed — we use your existing Google or Apple account.

**Is Das Library free?**  
Yes, Das Library is free to download and use.

**Which devices are supported?**  
Das Library is available on iPhone and iPad running iOS 13 or later.



### Books & Library

**How do I add a book?**  
Tap the **+** button on the Home screen. You can either:
- **Scan a barcode** — point your camera at the book's ISBN barcode.
- **Search by title** — type the book title to find it.

**What do the reading statuses mean?**  
- **Reading List** — books you want to read
- **Currently Reading** — books you are reading now
- **Finished** — books you have completed
- **Dropped** — books you started but stopped

**How do I update my reading progress?**  
Open the book from your library, then tap the progress section to enter your current page and total pages.

**How do I mark a book as finished?**  
Set your current page equal to the total pages — the app will automatically mark the book as finished.



### Reading Streaks

**How does the reading streak work?**  
You build a streak by logging reading progress on consecutive days. Missing a day resets your streak.

**How do I get reading reminders?**  
Go to **Settings → Notifications** and enable reminders. You can allow or disable them at any time.



### Reading Journal

**What can I save in the journal?**  
For each book you can save:
- A personal summary
- Your favourite passage or quote
- Private notes and thoughts

**Are my journal entries private?**  
Yes. Your notes and quotes are private and only visible to you.



### Classroom Features

**What is a classroom?**  
Classrooms allow teachers to connect with students, share book recommendations, send announcements, and view reading progress.

**How do I join a classroom?**  
Go to **Settings → Join a Class** and enter the class code provided by your teacher.

**How do I create a classroom?**  
Teacher mode must be approved first. Request teacher access from **Settings → Request Teacher Mode**.



### Account & Data

**How do I change my display name or reading goal?**  
Go to **Settings** and tap your profile to edit your name and monthly reading goal.

**How do I delete my account?**  
Go to **Settings → Delete Account**. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

**Can I use Das Library on multiple devices?**  
Yes. Sign in with the same Google or Apple account on any device and your library will sync automatically.



### Notifications & Permissions

**The app is asking for camera permission — why?**  
Camera access is only used for scanning book barcodes (ISBN). You can also add books by searching without using the camera.

**How do I turn off notifications?**  
Go to **Settings → Notifications** in the app, or manage permissions from your iPhone/iPad **Settings → Das Library → Notifications**.
